What a great summer we have enjoyed in the Mount Pleasant Fourth Ward. We recently had a fun ward party. Sister McClellan did a great job of organizing the party and the Tuineau family grilled some yummy chicken and provided some great entertainment with an exhibit of the various Polynesian cultures and dances. We are grateful for all that participated in making the party enjoyable.
In August Brenton Johansen reported to the Columbia MTC, he will spend the next two years serving our Heavenly Father in Columbia. Kevin Johansen is busy preparing for his mission where he will serve in Cincinnati Ohio, reporting to the Provo MTC October 24. Tyler Jessee returns from serving in the Korea Seoul South Mission on September 11. We will enjoy hearing Tyler report about his mission on September 16. I’m so excited to see Tyler again, I know he has had an impact in the lives of many members, investigators, missionaries, and those of us here in Mount Pleasant. As much as I love seeing young missionaries go into the field, it is even better to see them come home. I love feeling of their spirit and enjoying their testimony. What an amazing experience these young elders and sisters enjoy.
The theme in sacrament meeting for September is discipleship. We have recently had several new families move into the ward. The Power family, Harris family, McIff family, Eliason family, Moffett family, and Dixon family. With all the new families in our ward, as well as missionaries coming and going, we have plenty of speakers for sacrament meetings. I look forward to working with these new families and hopefully hearing them speak.
Mount Pleasant is such a great place to raise a family and to enjoy the blessings of the gospel. I pray that each member of the Mount Pleasant fourth ward has a great September. I’m grateful for the Savior Jesus Christ. I’m grateful for the restoration of the gospel. I’m grateful for a loving ward. It always amazes me at how much charity and Christlike love is exhibited by the members of the ward. The church is true. President Nelson is a prophet. I’m excited to prepare for General Conference in early October.
