Kia Ora, Whanau!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Here we didn’t do much, but a member gave us some apple pie. I haven’t seen any turkey for sale here, and everyone thinks pumpkins belong in soup, so most traditional foods have been hard to find. However, we are still being fed heaps, so all’s good. One of the members in our ward LOVES A&W root beer, so whenever we stop by, he gives us each one, because you can’t find it easily here.

This week we were able to do a lot of teaching, which was really cool. We are teaching a guy who was referred by his friend in Aussie. He is such a cool guy, and he is progressing really well. We went over to check on his reading, and we ended up having an hour long discussion about prayer, baptism, and life in general. He asked us one day “Have either of yous ever heard of Snow College?” I was like “Yes, I am going there when I get home.” He got really excited, and told me that the friend who referred him has a son playing football there this fall. LIT! Everyone, keep an eye out for a 6’8″ guy from Aussie. If you see him, tell him I am teaching his dad’s friend.

Spiritual Thought: The MTC President’s Wife, Sister Howse, said something in her last email. She talked about a “24 Hour Missionary,” and I think the same thing applies to us as members. Each of us needs to be a representative of Christ and His Church all day, every day.

With Christmas coming up, I encourage all of yous to focus on the true meaning, and to participate in the Light The World Campaign this year. Good luck, and have a great week!
